The Homeostatic Movement is part of the performative project ︎︎︎Canopy Kin situated at the crossroads of choreography and plant ecology science.

Informed by the latest observations of EPFL scientists, the project translates scientific knowledge about interactions among tree species in heterogeneous forest communities into movement.

The participatory sessions of the Homeostatic Movement consist of gentle and meditative dance exercises, translating the eternal, perpetual dance of trees in nature into the physicality and timescale of the human body.

Through a selection of individual, couple, and group tasks, we explore themes of rhizomatic entanglement, mutual nurturing, and the delicate balance of homeostasis.
